Burrard Yarrows Corporation, Canada's largest West Coast shipyard, has delivered two sister-ship icebreakers to Gulf Canada Resources Inc. of Calgary. The vessels, named Kalvik and Terry Fox, are reported to be the most powerful of their type in the world.
The Carolina, a 55-foot aluminum pilot boat, was christened recently by Mrs. Ernest F. Hollings, wife of South Carolina's Senator, for the Charleston Branch Pilots Association. The ceremonies at the Carolina Yacht Club in Charleston were attended by the Senator and more than 200 guests,
Thomas Marine, Inc. of Patchogue, N.Y., recently delivered two aluminum patrol and rescue boats to the Suffolk County Police Marine Bureau, Great River, N.Y. The vessels are the first to be specifically designed and built for the police — previously, the department procured stock boats.
